It's only been a month since we lost Luke, but literally about a week after, I got an email from one of my favorite websites, #shanalogic. And I saw this necklace, which was pretty much exactly the same leaf they put on my door at the hospital when we found out we lost him. It's a subtle reminder of him.

Yep--Gena's got it right below--They put a fallen oak leaf (maybe it's maple?) on the door so that no one busts in all happy and celebratory.

It's totally a scarlet letter. But in some weird way, I found this comforting when I found it.

ReplyDelete@Purple Shoes - they do that so nurses, etc can easily identify that the mom in the room had a miscarriage, stillbirth, etc - so they know to enter with a different attitude/not say the wrong things.
Let's see if I can figure out how to comment here (tried twice last night and failed) I love the leaf (and the one on LJ) it just I don't know, suits things somehow. Like there is a future and there is the sun, but right in front is this beautiful creation that is just out of reach in the picture.
